Jazzwerkstatt Bern. Im Februar 2008 gab die Jazzwerkstatt Bern im Berner Kino Cinématte ihr Festivaldebut. Über 70 Musiker/innen aus der ganzen Schweiz, Deutschland und Österreich erarbeiteten und präsentierten vier Tage und vier Nächte lang ihre Musik. In 15 Konzerten wechselten sich bestehende Bands der jungen europäischen Szene ab mit neu für die Jazzwerkstatt zusammengestellten Ensembles. Ein Teil des Programms bestand aus eigens für die Werkstatt geschriebenen Kompositionen, die nachmittags öffentlich geprobt und abends uraufgeführt wurden.
So wurde die Idee, eine Plattform zu schaffen um neue Musik zu erarbeiten, sich mit anderen Künstlern auszutauschen und mit einem möglichst breiten Publikum in Kontakt zu treten, erfolgreich umgesetzt.
Der hier vorliegende Sampler stellt eine kleine Auswahl der Live-Mitschnitte des ersten Jazzwerkstatt Bern Festivals vor.
